Bike To Work Days 2025 levert mooie steun op voor De Fietsschool

De campagne ‘Bike To Work Days’ van Lease a Bike levert ook dit jaar concrete steun aan De Fietsschool. Dankzij de enthousiaste inzet van honderden werknemers en de schenking van Lease a Bike kunnen wij verder investeren in fietslessen voor volwassenen, en dus in de strijd tegen mobiliteitsarmoede.

Leuven cyclists successfully complete lesson series

In Leuven, ten adults with little or no cycling experience successfully completed their cycling lessons.
During the final lesson, they received a cycling report from the hands of Lothe Ramakers, Leuven alderman for Diversity and Equal Opportunities.

Lease a Bike cycles for charity and supports De Fietsschool - Cycling School

During the Bike To Work Days from 12 to 16 May 2025, Lease a Bike will donate €0.23 per commuting kilometre cycled to De Fietsschool. With this support, more people in mobility poverty can learn to cycle and thus participate more independently in society.

Mayor Ridouani hands out cycling reports

Eighteen proud children received their cycling reports from Mayor Mohamed Ridouani today. They successfully completed the lesson series of Fietsschool XS, which teaches children aged 6 to 12 years how to cycle in traffic safely and confidently.

At the Flemish Road Safety Congress on 18 March, our trainers Lotte and Hannelore were our guests to introduce De Fietsschool. With De Fietsschool, we move heaven and earth to combat mobility poverty by giving cycling lessons to children, young people and adults who have a bicycle arrears. Especially people who are new to Belgium and have little experience with the traffic rules are thus given the chance to learn to cycle safely and independently.

Leuven starts cycling lessons for primary school children

Together with De Fietsschool, the City of Leuven recently started organising cycling lessons for primary school children. Under the name "Fietsschool XS", young beginners are given the chance to learn to cycle safely and fluently in four lessons. Other towns, municipalities and schools can also get started with this low-threshold approach.
