Learn to ride a bike in Ghent!

De Fietsschool Ghent teaches children, young people and adults who cannot cycle (properly). Have you ever cycled, but do you no longer dare properly? Then you are also welcome at De Fietsschool - Cycling School Ghent.

Cycling lessons for adults - level 1 (beginners)

In 10 lessons, you will learn to cycle safely and independently. You don't need any experience. We start with the bike by hand and end with a group bike ride on the street.

€25 for 10 lessons. UiTpass with chance rate: €5 for 10 lessons.

Cycling lessons for adults - level 2 (for those who can already cycle a bit)

In 5 lessons, you will learn to cycle in the city. You practise traffic rules and cycle around the neighbourhood. Later, we practice in real traffic, such as riding past cars and crossing tram tracks safely.

Cycling lessons for young people (12-18 years)

Are you between 12 and 18 years old and can't or not yet ride a bike properly? In 5 lessons, you will learn the most important Cycling Skills. We practice starting, stopping, keeping balance and riding safely. This will make you more confident on your bike and then you will be able to ride safely in your neighbourhood.

Cycling lessons for children (8-12 years)

De Fietsschool in Ghent also teaches cycling to children between 8 and 12 years old. All children who cannot yet cycle or cannot cycle well are welcome. In four lessons, they learn the most important basic skills to be able to cycle safely on the streets later.

Practical

  • You can use a bicycle and helmet from De Fietsschool - Cycling School in Ghent.
  • You are insured during cycling lessons.
  • Put on cycling clothes: long trousers with narrow legs, sturdy closed shoes and, if necessary, a mackintosh.
  • Need help signing up? Drop in at a District Health Centre near you.
