Cycling to work, or from customer to customer, is sustainable, healthy and efficient. Traffic jam or strike at De Lijn? You won't notice much of a problem by bike. But cycling in traffic also entails risks. More employees on bicycles also means more chance of cycling accidents, injuries and thus work stoppages. These are often single-vehicle accidents, involving only the cyclist himself.
By investing as a company or organisation in safe cycling workshops or cycling lessons for employees, you reduce the number of accidents, increase your employees' self-confidence and strengthen their mobility. What is safe cycling?
Cycling safely means sitting confidently on the pedals, assessing traffic, applying the highway code correctly, identifying hazards in time and adjusting your cycling behaviour accordingly.
So safe cycling initially requires you to master basic cycling skills. Just think of starting and stopping, keeping your balance, braking, taking bends,... But knowledge of Belgian traffic rules and the ability to react correctly in heavy traffic also contribute to greater safety.

'Safe Cycling' workshop
This interactive workshop teaches cycling employees how to do so smoothly and safely. The workshop lasts one day and consists of three parts. These theoretical and practical parts reinforce each other.
- Part 1: Cycling safely, with practical tips & tricks to recognise risks, react smartly and cycle confidently.
- Part 2: Road code for cyclists, with a clear explanation of the most important traffic rules that everyone on a bike should know.
- Part 3: Cycling safely on the street, based on a bike ride in the corporate environment
Experienced instructors from De Fietsschool come to your office, company or organisation to give the workshop. A maximum of 20 employees participate. Also suitable for newcomers and non-native speakers.
A classroom with beamer, pen and paper is all we need for the theoretical part. A bicycle in the classroom is also useful for visualising things. For the bike ride, participants bring their own bikes. We will provide the rest.

Cycling lessons through the company
Do you have employees who do not know how to cycle, or do not know how to cycle well, but would like to learn? Then we offer low-threshold cycling lessons for adults.
We tailor our lessons to the cycling level of your employees, even if they have never sat on a saddle before. We provide an experienced bike trainer, adapted teaching materials and a proven approach that gets everyone on the saddle. As a company or organisation, you provide a safe and traffic-free training area, a bike for each participant and possibly some helping hands to accommodate different learning speeds.
For optimal learning, a maximum of 20 employees participate per class series.
