Volunteers off to a good start in Diest
Bike lessons in Diest got off to a smooth start today. Motivated participants were guided by a team of enthusiastic instructors. Soon, Diest will again be home to a number of cyclists.

At the first lesson, all seven expected trainees were present, and from the following sessions, the city expects as many as 10 participants. 4 participants had never cycled before, 1 participant already taught himself a little cycling and 2 participants aged +65 years want to start cycling again after a long break.
In 12 lessons, participants will learn cycling step by step.
Solid team of trainers
Guidance has been greatly expanded with an enthusiastic team of four volunteers, supplemented by Pieter from the Diversity Department. Three volunteers followed training at De Fietsschool in October and are now on the ground with the team. A fourth volunteer brings experience from previous series in Diest.
Pieter himself also followed the training and actively participates in the lessons as a local trigger. This adds real value to the local operation.
So the group is well on its way, with a strong mix of new and experienced facilitators. A promising start for a successful series!
