Become a volunteer of De Fietsschool
To provide cycling classes all over Flanders, we like to work with cheerful volunteers.
They teach people how to cycle in their own town or city. Helping people on their bikes is incredibly fun and satisfying.
Do you enjoy cycling, do you have a good dose of patience and do you like working with people?

Volunteers wanted !
Volunteers are currently being sought for cycling classes in Beersel (start 22 April) and Kortenberg (start 29 April).
Don't panic. You will receive training from the cycling school's trainers before you start.
Teach cycling
Those cycling lessons are not a boring sequence of exercises. On the contrary. We always aim for a nice mix between learning to cycle, overcoming uncertainties, celebrating joy and having fun. We keep the number of participants per lesson low. That way, you as a volunteer instructor keep an overview and there is room for individual coaching, completely tailored to the needs of the different participants.

A generous smile and, above all, lots of gusto
To volunteer, experience in teaching or coaching is not necessary. We provide training and supervision. Top fitness is also not necessary. To teach cycling, you don't need to climb Mont Ventoux or win a mass sprint. A generous smile and, above all, a lot of enthusiasm for working with people. That's what it's all about.
Your commitment, your impact
For adults, learning to ride a bike is not a matter of course. It requires practice and sufficient guidance. As a volunteer at De Fietsschool, you provide this guidance. You assist novice cyclists in their learning process. In a few lessons, you see them evolve into independent cyclists who jump on their bikes confidently and without a care in the world. Your commitment changes lives!
Cycling together
As a volunteer, you can get involved even after the cycling lessons are over. After all, sometimes participants need a little push after the lessons. And you can give them that push.
Individual: After the lessons, you go on a cycling trip with one participant. You pay attention to those aspects that the participant indicates form an obstacle. For example, understanding traffic signs or cycling in heavy traffic.
In group: After the lessons, you go on a cycling tour together with participants. The focus of these cycling groups is on the social aspect of cycling together. Conviviality prevails!
All your talents come in handy
Apart from enthusiasm and patience to guide novice cyclists, you surely have other talents that will come in handy within De Fietsschool. Do you take fantastic photos? Do you tell tantalising stories? Or do you fix bikes in a pinch? Let us know, and we'll find a way to work together meaningfully.
