Cycling lessons for adults
All adults can learn how to ride a bike. You can too!
At De Fietsschool, we believe it's never too late to learn how to ride a bike. Our cycling classes for adults are specially designed for people who have not learned to ride a bike as a child, who have not been on a bike for a long time, or who don't feel confident cycling in traffic.
Our approach
We give cycling lessons in small groups, with individual support. Our instructors are trained to guide adults with little or no cycling experience. They will give you the time and space to learn at your own pace. Don't have your own bike? No problem, during the lessons you can use a bike from De Fietsschool.
Our cycling lessons focus on balance, control, self-confidence and a positive experience. We teach you how to ride a bike, how to follow Belgian traffic rules for cyclists and how to cycle smoothly and safely on the street, in traffic.
At the end of our lessons, you will receive personal cycling advice.
What can you expect?
- You receive individual coaching, tailored to your needs.
- You practice in a safe environment, without a lot of traffic.
- You enjoy a nice group feeling together with the other participants.
"I thought I would never be able to do it, but now I cycle to work every day."
What does a lesson series look like?
At De Fietsschool, a lesson series consists of 15 cycling lessons, 2 hours each. Lessons are held two times per week. A trained instructor is present in each lesson. There is a maximum of 20 participants per lesson.
Join our cycling classes
About 80% of all people who take cycling lessons through De Fietsschool are able to cycle independently after 15 lessons. Participants also say that the lessons give them more self-confidence, and that they enjoy finally being able to get around freely.
