Conference Women on Bikes! We were there.
On 21 September, the federal government's Mobility Department organised an exciting conference on women on bicycles in Belgium.
And De Fietsschool was there. Ah yes of course, because more women on bicycles is what we work on every day!
On the occasion of Mobility Week and the Federal Action Plan to Promote Cycling (BE CYCLIST), the DG Sustainable Mobility and Rail Policy of the FPS Mobility and Transport is organising a conference on Wednesday morning 21 September about women on bicycles in Belgium. And this is important, because still more men than women cycle!
One reason for not cycling that is much more common among women than men is 'I can't cycle'. So says a new super interesting study by VIAS: The impact of cycling on health, climate and economy in Belgium (belgium.be)
Our solution? Cycling lessons!
Because our participants also totally agree with what Minister Gilkinet said in his closing words: cycling makes healthy, cycling makes free, cycling makes independent!
Curious about the story we told there?
