Workshop: "Cycling safely on the streets, how do you do it?"

More and more people are taking their bikes to work, but safe cycling is not a given. Our workshop "Cycling safely in the street, how do you do it?" teaches employees how to recognise hazards and react smartly in traffic. That way, we increase their safety, self-confidence and enjoyment of cycling.

More cyclists, more risks

More and more people are choosing cycling as a mode of transport, including for commuting. This is great news, but also brings new challenges: more cyclists unfortunately also means a higher risk of accidents. Defensive cycling reduces those risks.

Cycling defensively means reading the traffic, recognising hazards in time and smartly adapting your riding behaviour. This ensures greater safety and confidence in traffic.

In our workshop, participants therefore discover how to avoid major risks thanks to small adjustments to their driving style.

Why invest in cycling education?

Helping your employees to cycle defensively is not something you do lightly. Cycling education makes a tangible difference. Studies such as Way Too Much, for instance, show that cycling education improves people's knowledge, attitude and skills, leading to safer behaviour. By combining theory and practice, traffic insight and confidence increase significantly. Even among novice cyclists, feelings of insecurity halve after defensive cycling training.

Cycling education thus provides:

  • Increased self-confidence and skills: Workers learn to move more safely, even in complex traffic situations.
  • Fewer accidents and drop-outs: Defensive cycling effectively reduces the risk of cycling accidents and thus reduces drop-outs due to injury or illness.
  • More sustainable mobility: A safe cycling experience lowers the threshold to more frequent bicycle use. This is good for human health and the environment.
