Cycling classes for KU Leuven students and staff
Have you never cycled before and would like to learn? Can you cycle just a little, but not enough to ride on the street?
Then you can learn cycling at the cycling school in 10 lessons.
You will first learn to ride a bike on a safe terrain. Then go and practise on the street. You will not do this alone, but under the guidance of experienced instructors. You take lessons in groups together with other novice cyclists.
Cycling lessons are organised by KU Leuven twice a year, in spring and at the start of the academic year.
- Lessons in spring take place on Thursday evening and Saturday morning. You take classes twice a week.
- Classes at the start of the academic year normally take place on Saturday mornings.
Classes are taught in English.

Practical information
Location
Cycling lessons take place on Blauwputplein in Kessel-Lo. You can get there easily on foot from Leuven station, or via the Heilig Hart Kerk bus stop on Diestesteenweg.
Price
20 euro for 10 lessons.
Extra
- You can use a bike and rudder from the cycling school.
- Bring a bottle of water, especially on hot days.
- Wear clothing (preferably trousers) and flat shoes.
- You are insured in case of accidents.
Cycling in Town - Welcome to Leuven
Cycling in the city is a bike ride through Leuven for international students who are just new to Leuven.
- You learn the do's & don'ts around cycling in the city
- You get to know various cycling facilities
- You learn traffic rules for cyclists.
This activity is organised on the occasion of the Orientation Days for students. For this tour, you need to be a good cyclist. The course is 10 km long and hilly.
There is one tour in spring and two tours at the start of the academic year. You will learn how to participate via Orientation Days.
